Stained glass process

Here at Kansas City Stained Glass, we’ve got a process in place to collaborate with our clients in creating the most beautiful and highest quality stained glass windows, custom designed to their specific tastes.

Let us give you a rundown of our custom stained glass process, so you can get an idea of how it all works. (Of course, the best way to get an idea of how it works is to jump right in and make an appointment with us for an in-home design consultation.)

Once you make that initial appointment, a Kansas City Stained Glass designer will come and meet with you in your home or office.

If you already have an idea of the design or style you want, you’ll be able to discuss that with the designer. If not, you’ll have the chance to look at many different photos of many different styles and patterns. You can choose from these styles or use them as a jumping off point to create something completely new. It is all about your tastes, your likes and dislikes, and of course, complementing the décor of your home or office.

In Kansas City, stained glass design is frequently chosen by the architecture or period of the home itself. For instance, if you are living in an old Craftsman style cottage or Victorian home, you might want something completely different in style than someone living in a modern ranch dwelling. We can accommodate any taste, any style, any size or shape.

While most Kansas City Stained Glass customers prefer leaded glass without color to add privacy without overpowering their décor, others love a touch of color that matches and enhances the color scheme in their space. Areas in a home where clients like stained glass to add privacy include the entryway, the hallway, sometimes even the bedroom, and definitely in the bathroom.

And of course, areas in the home where Kansas City Stained Glass customers want to add beauty, style, sophistication, elegance, and uniqueness include any area at all, from top to bottom. Yes, we have installed many striking stained glass windows into customers finished basements.

To get back to our process, once the design has been decided upon by the client, we create an exact blueprint for its construction using modern CAD software. Then one of our talented master builders takes over, cutting each piece of glass and assembling it all by hand. Once assembled, soldered, polished, and duly admired, the window or door panel is finished . . . and ready for installation in the client’s home or office.
