Kansas City Stained Glass Mackintosh

Mackintosh stained glass style

Mackintosh stained glass, Kansas City clients tell us, adds a certain flavor and feel to their homes that they really love. Interestingly enough, many of these same clients had never even heard of Charles Rennie Mackintosh until we started showing them some of his work, and some of the lovely stained glass windows that we have designed based on this famous Scottish architect and designer’s work.

If you fall into that crowd and know little or nothing about Mr. Mackintosh, here’s a brief history. Hailing from Glasgow, Charles Rennie Mackintosh (7 June 1868 – 10 December 1928) was a Scottish architect, designer, watercolorist, and artist. Part of the Post-Impressionist movement and one of the main representatives of Art Nouveau Style in the United Kingdom, Mackintosh had considerable influence on European design and has left quite a legacy. When he designed a building, it wasn’t just the architecture but the interiors, the furnishings, the artwork, and of course, the stained glass windows.

With Mackintosh stained glass, Kansas City homeowners and business owners can bring a touch of this great artist’s genius into their own homes and offices. He is also one of our favorite stained glass designers, partially known for his iconic Glasgow Rose designs.

When we create Mackintosh stained glass, Kansas City clients have the opportunity to look through photos and examples of his work, and have us customize designs in that style but that suit their needs. For instance, if a client would like more privacy in an entryway or bathroom, or they would like to camouflage an ugly view in a hallway window or basement window, we can create the Mackintosh inspired stained glass using mostly frosted glass.

If clients’ want a simpler or more elaborate design, we can do that as well. When it comes to Mackintosh stained glass, Kansas City Stained Glass has the passion and the expertise to design and build whatever you want, large or small, for any room in a home or commercial space.
