Some signs that indicate that a restoration is necessary include changes in color, a dull appearance, and bowed or cracked glass. It’s important to always look out for signs of deterioration and address them as soon as they arise.
Kansas City Stained Glass Remodeling & Renovation Process
At Kansas City Stained Glass, our remodeling and renovation services are designed to restore stained glass to its full beauty and functionality. Over the years, we’ve adjusted the methods and techniques we use for our restoration process. Now we believe that we have a succinct process in place that allows us to deliver beautiful results for all renovations.
Extraction: The stained glass is carefully removed from the site and safely transported to our stained glass studio.
Cleaning: The windows are thoroughly cleaned from soaking in a bath of cleansing solution for up to two weeks.
Disassembly: The panel is deconstructed piece by piece.
Glass replacement: All damaged glass is replaced with matching glass from our inventory.
Reconstruction: The panel is put back together with new leading and cementing.
Completion: The stained glass is returned to the original site and reinstalled. A piece of low-e safety glass is applied over the window for added protection.

Martin Faith is from Glasgow, Scotland, the stained glass capital of the world. Martin has been practicing the art of making stained glass windows for over thirty years and is a collector of antique works. His excellent craftmanship and extensive knowledge of the art form, including the required techniques for glassmaking, styles, and history of stained glass make him an expert in his field. Martin owns one of the largest stained glass window studios in the country. The company specializes in stained glass repair and restoration, religious stained glass, commercial stained glass, and custom residential stained and leaded glass. Together, Martin and his team have created hundreds of stained glass windows for homes and buildings in the Kansas City area.
