Featured Stained Glass Project: St. Edward’s Church

We’re proud to announce the recent completion of our custom church stained glass project over at St. Edward’s Church. This Pennsylvania church sought out to find a studio to create a memorial piece for its recently passed pastor. They decided to replace an existing window located in their observatory so they could also hide the street view from ongoing service. St. Edward’s reached out to many different studios across the nation and decided to go with ours.

The Church Stained Glass Construction Process for St. Edward’s Church

Since they started this project at the beginning of the pandemic, all design communications had to take place electronically. We drafted up different iterations of the tree of life for them to review. During this review process, Father Rick mentioned that he was interested in creating a second stained glass design sometime in the future that showed Jesus on the Sea of Gallilee as this was his favorite Bible teaching. We decided to give the design a shot to see what it would look like and presented it. The church and Father both fell in love and chose this as the final design. We wanted to create a larger-than-life window that was three-dimensional, so we utilized painting and shading to achieve this. We also depicted many different types of people and calm waters as a metaphor for the calm after the storm. Even with some installation challenges with their existing curtain wall, we successfully designed one large cohesive piece.
